To Our New Clients

My interest in representing people who have suffered significant personal injuries as a result of another person's negligence sprang from a childhood experience. Born in 1958 to Greek immigrants in New York City, I personally suffered major injuries as a child. These injuries were caused by the negligence of an adult in the course and scope of his job with a large corporation. Despite permanent after-effects, I was never fairly compensated. My personal experience grew into an interest in helping other accident victims obtain just compensation. This guided my studies through the City University of New York and the University of Oregon School of Law, from which I graduated in 1986.

Growing up on the streets and in the neighborhoods of New York honed my instincts to fight. I competed successfully in the New York City Golden Gloves and, after graduating from college, accepted a commission in the U.S. Marine Corps. My experience as an infantry officer taught me the importance of being able and willing to fight when necessary.

The Marine Corps transferred me to Hawaii in 1986 as a certified Judge Advocate. I served as a trial attorney, was decorated for my performance and promoted to Chief Trial Counsel. I also served as the Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii. After an unprecedented two-and-one-half year tour as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, trial counsel and chief trial counsel, I was assigned as Senior Legal Assistance Attorney, which involved providing legal advice to hundreds of active duty members and their families on issues as varied as consumer law and landlord-tenant disputes. By the time I was honorably discharged in 1989, my wife and I had determined to establish our family roots in Hawaii.

Before opening my own law office, I served as Senior Associate in two busy and successful Hawaii law firms, representing people living or visiting here, in their personal injury claims arising from such causes as automobile collisions, defective products, airplane crashes, medical malpractice, and hazardous property conditions.

We are proud of our record for obtaining optimum results for our clients. Our achievements included million dollar results and argument before the Hawaii Supreme Court. We also successfully prosecuted at trial the first two cases in Hawaii against insurance companies, which had based denials of no-fault benefits on PRO reports.

Our practice was limited to personal injury and insurance matters. We were committed to providing quality legal representation and to obtaining the best possible results for our clients. We prided ourselves on our integrity, close relationships with our clients, and our aggressive approach toward adversaries. We worked earnestly to bring our clients cases to successful conclusions, and were always available to respond to questions and concerns.

Our commitment to these concepts continues.
